Sapa School Encourages Students to More Actively Utilize the Educational House

Jakarta, Ministry of Education and Culture - The learning experience using virtual laboratories and interactive games is an attraction for students of SMAN 112 Jakarta in the 2026 School Greetings activity. Through the use of the Education House, especially the Student Room, this activity encourages students to become familiar with digital learning resources that can support learning in a more interesting and interactive way.

The principal of SMAN 112 Jakarta, Sukarman, stated that teachers at his school have been utilizing the Education House (Rumah Pendidikan) platform. However, according to school data, the number of students accessing the platform is still below 10 percent. Therefore, he welcomed the involvement of 80 students in the 2026 Sapa Sekolah (School Greeting) activity as an effort to expand the use of the Education House among students.

"We hope that with the Sapa Sekolah program involving 80 students, they can become role models for their friends so that the use of the Education House can be maximized," said Sukarman in Jakarta, Thursday (15/10).

Meanwhile, Ai Sri Nurhayati, the person in charge of digital services utilization at the Ministry of Education and Culture's Data and Information Technology Center (Pusdatin), explained that Sapa Sekolah combines an introduction to Rumah Pendidikan (Education House) for teachers with a hands-on learning experience for students through Ruang Murid (Student Room). Both approaches are expected to encourage teachers to integrate digital content into their learning and encourage other students to utilize the platform. "We are using two approaches: introducing Rumah Pendidikan and Ruang Murid to teachers and inviting students to experience learning directly using the content available in Ruang Murid," Ai explained.

Ai added that the challenge after the activity is ensuring teachers can apply the knowledge gained by integrating Ruang Murid into their lesson plans. Teachers need to identify available content and adapt it to the material being studied so that the platform's use can continue in daily learning activities.

Masyithah Helen Prayagati, an 11th-grade student at SMAN 112 Jakarta, enjoyed using Ruang Murid. She said she enjoyed participating in the Sapa Sekolah (School Greeting) activities, especially when she tried the virtual lab and practice games. She said the virtual lab provided an opportunity to explore learning practices, such as thermochemistry.

Ni Putu Mallika Putri, an 11th-grade student at SMAN 112 Jakarta, expressed similar sentiments. She found the virtual lab useful for learning the material, including simulations on blood types. She also appreciated the interactive games she could play with friends.

Meanwhile, Thalita Dzakia Arief, an 11th-grade student at SMAN 112 Jakarta, said that Rumah Pendidikan gives her the freedom to read materials and practice anytime, including at home. She also noted that the platform is free to access, thus avoiding additional costs for parents.

Rusmala Nainggolan, Head of the Junior High and Senior High School Section of the West Jakarta Education Sub-agency Region 2, emphasized that technology must be utilized to strengthen the quality of education. She encouraged teachers to apply the knowledge gained during the training to classroom practice, ensuring that technology truly supports students' needs. "Technology is not an end in itself, but rather a tool to strengthen the quality of education," she emphasized.

Through Sapa Sekolah 2026, the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education, through the Data Center (Pusdatin), is encouraging the optimal use of the Education House through hands-on practice, enjoyable learning experiences, and collaboration with educational units. These efforts are expected to extend beyond outreach activities and continue into daily learning, enabling more students to utilize digital learning resources to support their learning.*** (Author & Documentation: Rayhan/Editor: Denty)
