Rumah Pendidikan Presents 4,000 Contents, Helping Teachers Prepare Lessons Amid Time Constraints

Jakarta, Ministry of Education and Culture — Preparing learning media amidst a busy teaching schedule is no easy task for teachers. Indeed, some materials require illustrations and visual experiences to make them easier for students to understand. This need is becoming increasingly relevant as schools begin utilizing Interactive Flat Panels (IFP/PID), which will be even more useful when supported by learning resources that align with learning objectives.

The Education House, developed by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), provides around 4,000 learning resources for teachers to choose from based on their class' needs. However, not all teachers and students are familiar with this platform. The 2026 Sapa Sekolah event at SMA Negeri 80 Jakarta provided an opportunity for the school to learn about and experience the platform's services firsthand.

The Head of the North Jakarta Region I Education Sub-agency, Iis Budiana, who opened the event, stated that digital transformation isn't solely about using devices or internet connections. Technology needs to help teachers teach better and students learn more meaningfully. "The success of digitalizing learning isn't measured by how many applications we use, but by how much technology helps teachers teach better and students learn more meaningfully," Iis said.

Agus Triarso, Head of the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) Governance and Digital Transformation Division, explained that Rumah Pendidikan (Education House) is developed through contributions from content providers, teachers, and the community. Several partners contribute materials previously marketed commercially, including PesonaEdu and Assemblr Edu. Teachers can also submit their own learning videos, with each piece of content undergoing a curation process before being broadcast. "Rumah Pendidikan doesn't belong solely to Pusdatin or the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, but to everyone," Agus said.

Through Sapa Sekolah 2026, the Ministry of Education and Culture's Center for Data and Information Technology (Pusdatin) introduced the use of Rumah Pendidikan (Educational Home) to teachers and students in five areas of Jakarta. Themed "Learning Days Are More Fun with Ruang Siswa," the event included a simulation of recommended learning experiences for teachers, as well as exploration of virtual laboratories and educational games for students.

For SMA Negeri 80 Jakarta, one of the needs they want to address is the limited time teachers have to prepare teaching media. The school's principal, Satya Winarah, explained that some teachers have teaching loads of up to 35 hours or more. With such busy schedules, teachers need a choice of materials they can use without having to constantly create teaching media from scratch.

The school has two IFP units that teachers use alternately. Satya said the devices are used in lessons from Monday to Friday. He also wants teachers with learning projects to contribute to the Education House so their materials can be utilized by teachers from other schools.

Turmiati, a chemistry teacher at SMA Negeri 80 Jakarta, also feels the need for visual media. She believes that learning materials like molecular shapes and chemical reactions are quite abstract, requiring animations or illustrations to help students visualize the concepts. She has typically sought out supporting materials on YouTube. She hopes the content on Rumah Pendidikan can be helpful in explaining these topics accurately, clearly, and credibly.

Amid the AI Trend, Ruang Murid Becomes a Learning Companion and Teacher Inspiration

From a student perspective, Muhammad Raskha Aqila, a grade 11 D student, was drawn to the interactive learning features. After participating in the Ruang Murid introduction, he found the educational games and interactive materials to be helpful in understanding the lessons more comprehensively.

"If there was an interactive application like this, this would be better. It's more interactive and provides a holistic understanding, not just one answer at a time like AI," said Raska.

Eunike Serafina Orlin, an 11th-grade student known as Unik, expressed a similar opinion. During the 2026 Sapa Sekolah (School Greeting) activity, she tried reading material and working on Economics and Geography practice questions from the Ruang Murid feature on the Rumah Pendidikan platform. She found the illustrated materials and interactive exercises to be helpful in her learning. She plans to use Rumah Pendidikan to prepare for her final exams and explore other subjects outside her major, including Physics.

The participants' experiences revealed different needs: teachers require practical learning resources to support their teaching preparation, while students seek materials that help them understand lessons in a more engaging way. Through the 2026 Sapa Sekolah (School Greeting) program, the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) is encouraging the use of the Education House (Rumah Pendidikan) not only at the introductory stage but also in learning activities at school.*** (Author & Documentation: Uly/Editor: Denty)
