Jakarta, September 18, 2026 – The accuracy of educational programs begins with accurate data. This is one of the foundations of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) in launching the 2026 Basic Education Data Update (Dapodik) for Course Institutions at the Puspita Martha International Beauty School LKP, Jakarta, Thursday (17/9). The launch, led directly by the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul Mu'ti, is part of an effort to build non-formal education governance supported by increasingly accurate, valid, up-to-date, and integrated data. This activity was carried out in conjunction with the release of alumni of the Vocational Skills Education Program (PKK) to work abroad.
Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti stated that integrated and accurate data is crucial for achieving good education governance. By updating Dapodik, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education aims to ensure that course institutions, students, and various government intervention programs are properly recorded.
"The launch of Dapodik is an important part of our future policy direction, ensuring that education data becomes more accurate, valid, and up-to-date , and we continue to upgrade it so that it becomes the basis for our policy-making in various fields, particularly those related to courses and training," said the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education.
On the same occasion, the Director General of Secondary and Special Education, Tatang Muttaqin, stated that data updates are not only related to administrative accuracy but also directly related to decision-making and providing opportunities for students. He stated that Dapodik updates are necessary to ensure that non-formal education data serves as the basis for decision-making and the distribution of programs to the right targets.
"Data isn't just numbers. It drives decisions and interventions. Ultimately, it determines who gets the opportunity. Accurate data not only drives effective administration but also makes programs more targeted," he explained.
Tatang added that updating Dapodik is also part of efforts to build a new culture of non-formal education governance. Therefore, the data collection process requires not only a robust system but also the involvement of all stakeholders.
"Today's launch of the Dapodik Course Institute is not just a system launch; it's an effort to build a new culture of non-formal education governance. We want data to be entered correctly, updated regularly, validated jointly, and used for decision-making. This is where the central government cannot work alone," he said.
According to Tatang, data updates also promote a more transparent validation process and ensure the actual conditions of students and graduates are reflected in the data. Therefore, data updates and validation need to be carried out regularly by the LKP, the Education Office, and all stakeholders.
The Dapodik update aims to provide more accurate, up-to-date, and easily manageable education data. Several areas have been refined, from simplifying variables and strengthening student identity validation to improving data retrieval and synchronization mechanisms.
Adam, an operator at the Citra International Tourism Institute (LKP) in Bogor City, said that prior to the 2026 version, Dapodik was quite helpful in data management, but new users needed time to understand its flow and features. Operators also needed to carefully ensure data was up-to-date and problem-free before synchronizing. He believes these improvements have made data management easier and more focused. Users can more quickly identify data that still needs updating before synchronizing, helping reduce errors and making the data management process more efficient.
"The most noticeable difference, in my opinion, is the appearance and ease of use. The Dapodik LKP 2026 interface feels simpler and easier to understand, especially for new users. Furthermore, the indicator for data that hasn't been updated before synchronization is very helpful. We can immediately see if there's still data that needs to be corrected and can go directly to that section," said Adam.
Ayu, a user of LKP Amaya in Depok, shared a similar experience. According to her, one of the previous obstacles was that users still had to differentiate between the Dapodik page and the management page when managing teacher and student data. "Now it's very easy to fill out the form because all the features are easily accessible. It's easier to fill in all the necessary data on the Dapodik website," Ayu said.
This convenience is part of the 2026 Dapodik LKP (Language Data Collection) improvements to support a simpler and more structured data collection process. With easier-to-understand access and flow, LKP operators can more quickly identify data that needs to be completed, updated, and validated before synchronizing.
With a simpler and more structured data collection process, this update is expected to reduce errors, duplicate data, and anomalies.
