South Tangerang, July 14, 2025 – The 2025 Friendly School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) officially begins today across Indonesia, including in South Tangerang City (Tangsel), Banten. The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) ensures that the MPLS activities are safe, comfortable, and free from bullying, in order to create a conducive learning environment for new students.
"We are fully committed to creating a welcoming MPLS (School-Based Learning) where new students can adapt to the school environment without fear or stress," said Gogot Suharwoto, Director General of Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education (PAUD Dikdasmen). "A friendly MPLS is the first step for students to pursue a quality education, starting with positive experiences in their first days at school."
Based on reports received by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education from the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) in Banten Province, the implementation of the Friendly MPLS in several schools in South Tangerang has shown positive results. State Senior High School 6 Tangsel reported that the Friendly MPLS was running safely and under control. A similar sentiment was also reported by State Senior High School 3 Tangsel, where the Friendly MPLS roll call went well and smoothly. State Senior High School 10 Tangsel reported that the Friendly MPLS was running smoothly.
Uniquely, SMA Negeri 8 Tangsel implemented a hybrid format for its MPLS Ramah (Friendly Learning) program. The first day of activities was online, and will continue offline starting Tuesday, July 15, 2025. This approach demonstrates the school's flexibility in ensuring the MPLS remains effective by leveraging technology.
"We truly appreciate the efforts and innovations made by schools in implementing a Friendly MPLS. The report from South Tangerang is concrete evidence of our shared commitment to realizing a positive and effective MPLS," added Gogot. "Initiatives like the hybrid implementation at SMA Negeri 8 Tangsel are worthy of emulation, demonstrating the school's adaptability to the conditions and needs of its students."
The Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education continues to urge all parties, from principals and teachers to parents, to monitor and ensure that the Friendly MPLS (Student-Friendly Learning) is implemented according to guidelines. "Let's work together to make MPLS a positive opportunity for new students to get to know the school, their peers, and develop their potential, free from all forms of violence and bullying. Report any indications of violations immediately, because quality education begins with a safe and comfortable environment," concluded Gogot Suharwoto.
