Cimahi, West Java, September 21, 2026 – The Vocational Gallery Building at the Center for the Development of Vocational Education Quality Assurance in the Field of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (BBPPMPV BMTI), Cimahi, West Java, is now a space that brings together teacher work, technological innovation, and the needs of the industrial world. The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul Mu'ti, inaugurated the building and opened a series of Work Showcases for Vocational Educators and Education Personnel (PTK) Competency Improvement Training with the theme Work Showcase, Industrial Partnerships, and AI for Vocational Education Transformation, Monday (21/9).

For Abdul Mu'ti, the Vocational Gallery is more than just a place to display works. He hopes the space will continue to thrive, showcasing new innovations and creativity from vocational schools and vocational education centers. "The Gallery building will be a center where various innovations, creativity, and technology-based achievements developed by vocational schools across Indonesia are displayed," Mu'ti said. He emphasized that the Vocational Gallery's collection be updated annually so that technological developments and creativity in vocational education can continue to be visible.

Tatang Muttaqin, Director General of Secondary and Special Education (Dirjen Dikmen Diksus), stated that the inauguration of the Vocational Gallery marks the point that improving the quality of vocational education must move from concept to practice. He stated that current challenges in vocational education include accelerating technological development, implementing partnerships with industries that are not yet fully present in learning, and the uneven use of learning technology. "Today, we want to prove that we can meet these challenges with concrete action," Tatang said.

Tatang explained that the Vocational Gallery is designed as a home of innovation where teachers learn and students work. At the same time, partnerships with the business and industrial world (DUDI) are aimed at producing concrete activities such as factory-based teaching , joint curricula, projects, and certifications that pave the way for students to enter the workforce. "We don't want the MoU to just be a neat document on a desk; it must be implemented in the classroom," he said.

This competency strengthening was carried out through the 6th Batch of Guided Online Training, consisting of 16 classes with a total of 320 vocational high school teachers participating, and training for 16 instructors from course and training institutions (LKP) on producing AI-integrated 3D animated advertisements. The training results were displayed through a work exhibition as proof that improving teacher competency goes beyond certification, but also produces learning products, teaching tools, and innovations that can be applied in the classroom and workshops.

On the occasion, Abdul Mu'ti also witnessed the strengthening of the Ministry of Education and Culture's partnership through the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between the Directorate General of Secondary and Special Education with PT ASIX Indonesia Cerdas as a formal basis for the partnership in developing competencies based on artificial intelligence, robotics, and drone technology in the vocational education environment. This activity was a soft launch of the vocational AI collaboration with PT Asix Indonesia Cerdas, including the activation of the vocational AI platform designed to support the preparation of teaching modules, personalization of learning, and efficiency of the administrative burden of vocational school teachers. Then also the signing of the Work Plan between BBPPMPV BMTI with PT Agate International and PT Handal Yesindo Sejahtera as a follow-up to the operational industrial partnership in the field of content development and learning technology.

Mu'ti emphasized that the development of vocational education also needs to strengthen the link between formal and non-formal education so that graduates have competencies that align with the needs of the workforce. The Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education, he said, has begun designing a scheme that will allow vocational high school (SMK) and high school (SMA) graduates to obtain both a diploma and a skills certificate obtained through courses and training. "We certainly hear various criticisms, but we respond by working, not just by words," he stressed. He also encouraged vocational high school students to be confident because vocational education equips them with competencies that are on par with other educational pathways.

In line with this, the use of artificial intelligence is aimed at enhancing learning, not simply keeping pace with technological developments. Mu'ti emphasized the importance of using artificial intelligence responsibly and in accordance with Indonesian values and culture.

Director General Tatang took the opportunity to encourage teachers, schools, industry, and local governments to ensure that the activities provide tangible benefits after the event concludes. "Today we inaugurate the facility, tomorrow we will realize its benefits. Today we sign a partnership, tomorrow we will realize the results," he said.
