Jakarta, June 23, 2026 - The Basic and Secondary Education Policy Agency (BKPDM), Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), has issued Decree of the Head of BKPDM Number 020 of 2026 concerning Amendments to the Decree of the Head of the Education Standards, Curriculum, and Assessment Agency Number 046/H/KR/2025 concerning Learning Outcomes in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education Level, and Secondary Education Level.
This decision is a follow-up to the policy adjustments in the Religion and Character Education subjects to strengthen the direction of learning that is relevant to student needs and the development of national education policies.
The changes in the decree are limited, covering only Learning Outcomes in Religion and Character Education. Learning Outcomes for all other subjects remain unchanged and remain in accordance with BSKAP Head Decree No. 046/H/KR/2025.
The Head of BKPDM, Toni Toharudin, stated that this update was carried out in a measured manner to provide certainty for educational units in implementing learning.
"We need to emphasize that the changes stipulated in BKPDM Head Decree No. 020 of 2026 only apply to Learning Outcomes for Religion and Character Education. Learning Outcomes for all other subjects remain the same and unchanged," Toni said.
Through this decision, the government hopes that all stakeholders have a complete understanding of the scope of the changes so as not to create the perception that all Learning Outcomes have been updated.
The Head of the BKPDM's Decree No. 020 of 2026 can serve as a reference for local governments, educational institutions, educators, and other stakeholders in implementing learning in accordance with applicable regulations. *** (Author & Photographer: BKPDM Team)
