Regarding this achievement, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Suharti, emphasized that awards are not the ultimate goal of public relations work. Rather, the success of government communications is measured by its ability to build understanding, address needs, and provide tangible benefits to the public.
"This award serves as both a token of appreciation and a reminder that public communication is not just about conveying information, but also about ensuring the public understands and benefits from every education policy and program. Information must be delivered clearly, accurately, and easily understood, reaching all levels of society, including children and parents. Therefore, public relations must continue to listen, understand public needs, and ensure that educational information is presented in an inclusive and relevant way to people's daily lives," said Suharti.
Echoing this sentiment, Tatang Muttaqin, Director General of Higher Education and Special Education, who was present at the awards ceremony, also expressed his appreciation for the public relations team's performance, which he believes has had a direct impact on the wider community. "This demonstrates how our work in the public relations team has had an impact and is being recognized by a highly competent institution in the public relations field," Tatang said.
Tatang hopes that this success will inspire the public relations team to present clear, accurate, and credible information and be more responsive to public needs.
"This achievement is also the result of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Men, and Special Education's commitment to providing disability-friendly information. We want to ensure that the public, including children with special needs and special services, are not left behind in obtaining equal access to information," said Tatang.
The AHI (Indonesian High School for Public Relations) is a prestigious awards event that recognizes public relations performance, public information transparency, and communication innovation in ministries, state institutions, state-owned corporations (BUMN/BUMD), local governments, and universities throughout Indonesia. This year, the Ministry of Education and Culture competed with over 300 entries, which were assessed by a panel of judges. At the final ceremony, 178 trophies were awarded to the 80 winning institutions of the 2026 AHI, along with four special Platinum trophies and 18 Kartini Indonesian Public Relations awards.
In his remarks, the CEO of Humas Indonesia, Asmono Wikan, expressed his appreciation for the dedication of all public relations professionals in Indonesia who have built transparency and strengthened public trust. "This reflects the hundreds of hours of work, thousands of ideas, and countless dedication of our colleagues in public relations across Indonesia who strive daily to build transparency and strengthen public trust in their respective institutions," Asmono explained.
