Jakarta, April 1, 2026 – Technically, preparations for the computer-based Academic Ability Test (TKA) for sixth-grade elementary and ninth-grade junior high school students across Indonesia have reportedly reached the final stages, with the implementation date now awaited. This was announced by the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul Mu'ti, some time ago.

Regarding infrastructure, Minister Mu'ti explained that schools lacking computer facilities have been regulated so they can still conduct tests. "We've arranged for schools that don't have computers or haven't yet had them so they can borrow them from other schools that don't employ foreign workers," she explained.

He urged students and parents not to worry about the TKA, as the test does not determine graduation. The TKA assessment focuses on only two subjects: Indonesian and mathematics, while other requirements remain the responsibility of each educational institution.

Regarding the supervision of foreign workers, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikbud) has adopted the tagline "Honest and Happy." He sternly warned anyone who attempts to cheat during the test. "We are firm in principle. If a student or school cheats, we will immediately zero their score. Because honesty is the most important thing," he stressed.

Minister Mu'ti hopes that students can take the test with a sense of joy to avoid psychological obstacles or mental blocks .
