Jakarta, Ministry of Education and Culture – The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul Mu'ti together with the Secretary General of Kemendikdasmen, Suharti, attended the handover of the position of Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) from Pratikno, Chairman of the Advisory Council to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, to Sugiono, in Jakarta, Monday (5/10).
In his remarks, Coordinating Minister Sugiono expressed his appreciation to all ministries and institutions that had collaborated in carrying out their duties and building the foundation of government programs. He emphasized that the new leadership would not start from scratch, but rather continue existing programs, evaluate areas for improvement, and expedite the implementation of programs that required acceleration.
"We will fix what is not good, we will perfect what still needs improvement, and we will accelerate what needs to be accelerated," said Sugiono.
Sugiono stated that human development is a crucial part of the major transformation being implemented by the President. Therefore, various development agendas must be implemented in a timely and targeted manner. Several priorities highlighted include the education sector, strengthening disaster management capacity, accelerating post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction, and poverty reduction.
He also emphasized the importance of ensuring that social assistance and government interventions reach the most needy groups, including low-income families and vulnerable groups. He stated that synergy between ministries and institutions is key to ensuring that various development programs are implemented effectively and provide tangible benefits to the community.
In his remarks, Pratikno outlined the implementation of human and cultural development coordination tasks during his leadership. He emphasized the importance of developing Indonesia's human resources to compete globally, while ensuring that no community is left behind in the development process. This principle is a crucial part of the implementation of cross-ministerial and institutional programs under the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.
Through this handover, Sugiono hopes for the support and cooperation of all ministries and institutions to maintain program continuity and align steps in implementing the government's agenda. He emphasized that successful human development requires hard work, smart work, and strong coordination so that the benefits of policies can be directly felt by the public.
