The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikbud) Praises the Bungo Pintar App as a Digital Learning Innovation

Bungo Regency, Jambi, August 8, 2026 – The availability of regular learning outcome data is a crucial requirement for local governments to identify student abilities and determine more precise educational interventions. To address this need, the Bungo Regency Government launched the Bungo Pintar application, which provides real-time learning outcome data for kindergarten, elementary, and junior high school levels.

Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Wamendikdasmen) Fajar Riza Ul Haq expressed his appreciation for the Bungo Pintar app as a regional innovation in developing digital-based learning. He expressed his appreciation while attending the launch of the Bungo Pintar app at the BAPPEDA office in Bungo Regency, Jambi, on Friday (August 7).

"This digital innovation is very fitting and aligns with our ongoing efforts at the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, namely strengthening digital-based learning innovation. We express our appreciation and congratulations on the launch of the Bungo Pintar app as a creative initiative from the region," said Fajar.

The Bungo Pintar app was born out of the need for real-time learning outcome data. Through this platform, the Bungo Regency Education and Culture Office can periodically map students' academic abilities, from weekly to annually, to determine the need for teacher intervention and training. The app is equipped with features such as a question bank, literacy and numeracy games, a digital library, and an Al-Quran academy. Students can also learn difficult material through fun game simulations.

Bungo Regent Dedy Putra stated that the Bungo Pintar app has become part of the Bungo Regency Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD). "Your visit today is part of our agenda because our vision and mission, namely Bungo Pintar, are included in the Bungo Regency RPJMD," he said. One of the program's main focuses is Quranic literacy, which is mandatory for students in the first 30 minutes of the school day. This is part of the region's efforts to develop local content through the digital ecosystem.

This innovation was born from the tenacity of a team led by Baskoro Pandu Aji, the principal of SD Negeri 183 Sumber Mulia, with a background in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK). Despite having no background in information technology, Baskoro built this system autodidactically through collaboration between facilitators. With a development cost of Rp 0, the application was successfully completed in three months. "My lecturer's advice was to be a PJOK teacher whose brain is muscle and whose muscles are brain," Baskoro said when describing the challenges of developing the application.

Baskoro also expressed his gratitude for the technological assistance received by schools in his area. "This is how valuable the equipment provided by our President is. This Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) is a very beneficial tool for all of us. We hope that every class will have one," he said.

At the same time, the Bungo Regency Government has submitted a proposal for the construction of an Integrated National School (SNT) to the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) by providing 20 hectares of land in two different locations.

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education is building a digital learning ecosystem through the provision of IFPs. Last year, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) distributed 4,533 IFP units in Jambi Province, valued at Rp 150 billion, with Bungo Regency receiving the highest allocation, with 473 units. Deputy Minister Fajar encouraged the optimal use of these devices in classrooms to support student learning.

Bungo's innovation also supports the Ministry of Education and Culture's agenda of building a national digital learning ecosystem. Fajar stated that the Ministry has a super app , Rumah Pendidikan, that integrates more than 1,000 educational applications under one roof. This platform has earned international recognition as the world's number one winner at the 2026 World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Prizes in Switzerland for the e-government- based education services category.

As a follow-up, Fajar is pushing for regional innovations such as Bungo Pintar to be integrated into the Rumah Pendidikan ecosystem. This aims to ensure national access to quality local content for students in other regions while simultaneously enhancing efficiency in digital education services. The Ministry of Education and Culture's Data and Information Center (Pusdatin) team is scheduled to communicate with the innovation team in Bungo soon to follow up on the integration and technical synchronization process.
