Jakarta, October 12, 2026 — The 2026 National Student Arts and Literature Festival (FLS3N) for Secondary Education has officially concluded. The festival successfully showcased the best works in arts and literature by outstanding secondary education students from across Indonesia.
At the closing and award ceremony of the 2026 FLS3N Dikmen, the Head of the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas), Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), Maria Veronica Irene Herdjiono, expressed her highest appreciation to the participants who had been selected to represent their respective regions as national-level FLS3N finalists.
She revealed that the students had worked hard during the competition and successfully presented their best work. "To those who won, continue to improve your skills. For those who didn't make it, don't be discouraged, as opportunities to excel are always open," Irene said in Jakarta on Friday (October 9).
Irene emphasized to the students that after this competition, they should not stop creating and continue to improve their skills. She hopes that the experience of participating in FLS3N will motivate them to continuously develop their creativity and potential. She believes this is crucial so that their achievements can inspire and motivate students in Indonesia to follow in their footsteps and produce works in the arts and literature. "To all of you, always strive to excel because every talent has meaning, and every work can have an impact and inspire the nation," Irene concluded.
The 2026 FLS3N Dikmen series includes sixteen branches of events, namely Poetry Reading, Song Writing, Poetry Writing, Poster Design, Short Films, Photography, Guitar Solo Instruments, Journalism, Traditional Music Creativity, Crafts, Digital Comics, Short Story Writing, Male Solo Singing, Female Solo Singing, Monologue, and Creative Dance.
Syarifah Nayla from SMKN 1 Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands Province, who won first place in the Digital Comics competition, expressed her gratitude and joy. She admitted that the journey to the national level was difficult and challenging. However, through these circumstances, she learned to work even harder to improve her skills.
"Thank God, I qualified for the national level and met amazing friends from all over Indonesia. Each level of the competition increases in difficulty, but that keeps me improving my skills ," said Nayla.
Nayla added that she still faced many challenges during the product creation process, one of which was a time when she was stuck developing an idea, making it difficult to translate it into a work. However, with the help of her mentor and the encouragement of her friends, Nayla was able to overcome it all. "Therefore, I prepared my idea and planned it carefully so that it could be completed within the allotted time," she added.
Furthermore, Nayla revealed that the biggest lesson she learned from participating in FLS3N is that the process is more important than simply winning. Discipline, perseverance, acceptance of criticism, and the courage to be confident in one's own work are key assets. According to her, to become a champion, you have to start from scratch, so don't be afraid to start and keep creating. "Don't stop halfway, failure is not the end of everything, and you all can do it," Nayla said, giving her message.
Daffa Haikal, a student at Al Irsyad Al Islamiyah Informatics Vocational School in West Java, who was selected as the first-place winner in the Photography category, expressed similar sentiments. "I'm very grateful for my hard work and being selected as the first-place winner," Daffa said.
Daffa said it's not easy to produce good photos. The idea and location are crucial. Both must be in harmony and complement each other. Luckily, with his mother's help, Daffa found a suitable location: a melinjo chip production center.
Furthermore, Daffa admitted to feeling insecure when he saw the more sophisticated and expensive photography equipment of other participants during the provincial-level competition in Bandung. It turns out, Daffa explained, that what makes a good photo isn't determined by the sophistication of the camera, but by the results, regardless of the equipment used. Furthermore, self-confidence and a strong spirit are also key assets, along with continuing to learn and practice photography.
Hendhy Nansha, a judge for the FLS3N Dikmen Craft competition, said the judging process went smoothly. He considered all participants champions, as it's not easy to advance to the national level without winning a previous competition.
He advised prospective FLS3N participants next year to prepare well, practice, and learn from the experiences of this year's winners. "Learn from the champions, think creatively, work diligently and neatly, pay attention to every small detail, and cultivate your taste by consulting numerous references," Hendhy concluded.
