South Tangerang, Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education – At the launch of the Indonesian Center for Health Evidence-Informed Policy (I-CHIP), the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen), Abdul Mu'ti, clearly encouraged strengthening the physical and mental health of students as an important part of building a Golden Indonesia 2045. For him, these efforts need to be carried out together by strengthening the education ecosystem involving parents, educational units, the community, universities, the media, and related ministries and institutions. Minister Abdul Mu'ti believes that health encompasses not only physical aspects, but also mental and spiritual well-being, which require balanced attention. This is becoming increasingly important amidst the various challenges facing today's younger generation. "There are two main things that are closely related to education. First, physical health, and second, mental or spiritual health. We need these two things, both now and in the future," said Minister Abdul Mu'ti in South Tangerang on Tuesday (September 15). Through the 7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children (7KAIH), Minister Abdul Mu'ti explained that the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) encourages schools to not only be a place to acquire academic knowledge, but also a space for students to build healthy living habits, character, social skills, and mental and spiritual balance. "The Indonesian generation of 2045 will be physically and mentally healthy. Therefore, we need to build a culture that is physically, spiritually, and intellectually strong, one of the ways we are realizing this is through the 7 KAIH," he said. Furthermore, the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education views the education sector as having a strategic position to foster healthy lifestyle habits from an early age. Simple habits such as waking up early, exercising, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, fostering positive social interactions, and strengthening spirituality can lay a crucial foundation for shaping a child's character and health. "Through 7 KAIH, we encourage students to build good habits through simple activities. Various studies have also shown a link between healthy lifestyle habits and physical and mental health, as well as student readiness for the learning process," concluded the Minister of Elementary and Secondary Education.*** (Writer & Photographer: Destian)
