Makassar, June 14, 2025 – The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) remains committed to improving teacher welfare and competency, particularly in deep learning . This is done to ensure teacher competency can be continuously improved, thereby enhancing the quality of learning in schools. This was conveyed by the Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Wamendikdasmen), Fajar Rizal Ul Haq, at a national seminar with the theme "Deep Learning Approach in Realizing Quality Education for All", which was initiated by the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI) of South Sulawesi, at the Hall of Makassar State University (UNM), Thursday (12/6). "It may be a math and physics competition, but at least it motivates the kids to compete. The immersive learning approach is an effort by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education to accelerate the quality of education in Indonesia to address the disparities in the quality of education that have occurred so far.
Good Practices of Education Programs in Pangkajene and the Islands, South Sulawesi
In addition to Makassar State University, Deputy Minister Fajar also delivered remarks regarding deep learning at the National Education Seminar held by the Elementary and Secondary Education and Non-Formal Education Council, Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership, which was held at the Pangkajene and Kepulauan (Pangkep) Regent's Office.
The Regent of Pangkajene and Kepulauan, Muhammad Yusran Lalogau, who was also present at this event, stated that education was one of the strategic programs he had launched, namely the free uniform program, specifically for state schools, which he launched during his first term in office.
"Thank God, in our second year, we also provided free uniforms to madrasas. This has certainly increased the number of children attending schools in Pangkep Regency. This isn't for any other reason. Deputy Regent Abdul Rahman Assagaf and I want to educate our children in Pangkep Regency," Yusran explained.
Furthermore, the Pangkep Regency Government has allocated funds for various competitions for school students, which will be held again this year. Although only at the local government level, he believes this will encourage children to participate and improve their knowledge.
